Star Wars Celebration VI

It's time for another Star Wars Celebration and my guys are going!  The costumes are still in the works, but this one is almost completed and I just HAD to share it.  Logan painted and distressed his armor.  He looks SO grown UP, doesn't he?!

Trying on all this stuff  is exhausting.

A Refreshing Trip

I had the priviledge to attend a stamping convention in Cincinnati with some friends and OH what fun we had! I found the BEST STUFF at a booth called "Coffee Break Design" and you can find their stuff at www.RetroCafeArt.com. I bought WAY too much but CUTE! And look who else was there....Tim Holtz. My friend snapped this shot and I think it's adorable. he he

The Pool

So the next night, Todd and I went out to eat and I mentioned it to him.  He immediately started plotting it all out on a napkin and after dinner we went to see them in person.

So now we have a partial pool completed.  It's a little further along than this last picture.  We need the concrete poured for the patio and sidewalk area.  Hopefully that will be done early next week.

We're looking forward to having friends over to "play".

Another Quilt

This is another quilt I made over the winter and I'm just now getting around to posting it.  I love the colors.

Recent Projects

I saw a scarf made from old hankies on Pinterest so I made myself one.  It goes with so many things!

Though you may not be able to tell it here, this is actually a maxi dress on me.  I found the fabric at Joann's and KNEW it was to be mine.

This is a little dress I made from fabric I bought at a local store, Stitcher's Playhouse.

Okay...this little darling is actually an under dress to wear under...

this and

this and...

this.
I will actually make little flowers to pin to this.

This is a little dress I made for my sweet girl from a 1950's pattern. Isn't she adorable?!?!  She's my little steampunker.

Todd's Planes

These are Todd's model airplanes that he's been working on for the past year.  The top one is big and is in what they call the "coconut" series.  That's our queen-size bed it's sitting on.  BIG!  I don't remember the other one's classification, but I thought it was cute and wanted to share it.  It is not very big. hehe

The "Girls"

The girls are growing up.  Here is a recent picture of them.

Before, During, and After

These are pictures of Aubry getting her hair cut.  She donated her hair to Locks of Love.   She had 11 1/2 inches cut off.

Senior Banquet

Yesterday we honored the graduates of our congregation with a banquet.  It was my job to decorate the tables and I used books as my theme.  I used pages from old books for table runners and library cards for place cards.

We Have Five New Babies

We are the proud owners of 5 little chicks.  The cats were very curious but sweet with the babies.  They are all different breeds.  We have a Welsummer, a Golden Laced Wyandotte and Silver Laced Wyandotte, a Salmon Favorelle, and a Silver Gray Dorking.  The chicken coop arrived Fri and Todd put it together in just a couple of hours.  The chicks won't get to live in it for a few weeks because they need to grow up a little first.  But they are soooo cute.  We've enjoyed watching them today and the "pecking order" is already going on.

Winter Quilt

I always thought I would eventually gravitate to making quilts.  I love playing with color and pattern.  At the library, I found a quilt magazine with an unusual quilt on the front.  I scanned over the article and decided it was worth the 10 cents the magazine cost.  I have many, MANY fabric scraps and wanted to use them in a meaningful way.  So I got busy cutting out blocks.  I worked on cutting them out over a weekend and started sewing them together.  I had all the blocks completed and all sewn together by the end of the next week.  Then I started quilting.  I hand quilted the center and machine stitched around the edge.  It was my first attempt at machine quilting and MAN it was fun!  This quilt measures 86"x86".

Little Stinkers

Todd was out taking care of our chickens when along came a momma skunk and her 6 babies!  Notice the tails sticking up in the top photo.
