This was our weekend to decorate and really start getting into the Christmas "spirit". Aubry had breakfast with Santa at church and she was a HUGE help with getting the tree decorated. And if you'll look back several posts, you'll see these shelves in their previous life as dresser drawers. I had Todd put shelves in them and he hung them up for me. Ta dah!

What's in Your Bag
My neice, Paige, did this on her blog so I thought I'd copy her. She took a picture of what was in her purse. I have:
hand santizer
tissue
phone
pencils
money
Rx sunglasses
wallet with so many stupid "shopper" cards
note pads
check book
church phone directory
business cards from recent dr visits
gift cards in an envelope
shopping list of what Logan wants for Christmas
So....What's in your bag?

Aubry's piano recital was this past Sun and she looked so grown up in her new dress. She did a great job playing her pieces too.
I should take a bite of humble pie, but this is one of my most favorite creations. I modified a Vogue top pattern and added lacy fabric for ruffles. I found this crazy colored ric rac that just hit the note I was needing and those red velvet "roses" were just the icing on the cake. I had seen a dress in a boutique in Juneau that was along these lines, but my version is way more "me".

Fall!!!
OH FALL IS ALMOST HERE!!! It is my favoritte season. These are a couple of things I've made recently. The floral skirt is from fabric in an earlier post. I just bought the cardigan yesterday at Target. The solid green is a copy of a skirt I bought several years ago at Gap. It is pumpkin orange and I found it on a sale rack.

The Dining Room
We have been in our home for 5 years now. Our dining room is a room we've neglected. I would pile boxes in there. Logan's science lab stuff was strewn in a corner. The room was in a constant state of "mess". We didn't have a "real" table and chairs to put in there and we often joked that we'd get a real dining set "when we grew up". We've been in an organizing phase over the past year and this room was on the list to fix up. So over the weekend I cleaned it up and moved the furniture in there that we had been using in our breakfast room and MAN it just really set that room! I had to take a picture and share it. I guess this means Todd and I have grown up. I look forward to hosting some grown up meals in there.

Something Different
This idea came to me as I was completing a Bible lesson. The verse inside here is from Isaiah and says:
"They will be oaks of righteousness,
a planting for the display of His splendor."
It speaks of the strength we receive from God and how His glory shines through us and how He enjoys us as His children.
I made this from a cereal box. I used butcher paper for the trees and I had an oak leaf stamp. I used textured paper for the grass and water. I used a "believable" blue for the sky/background.

Dress Form Creations
I have a twin! It's a Double Deluxe dress form. I've contemplated getting a dress form for some time and I found this one on Overstock.com. These are my first 2 projects using it and I am pleased with how they turned out.
This gray dress is a copy of one I saw online used on the "Uniform Project". You really should check out that blog. A gal wore this same dress for a year and used different accessories and such everyday to make it look different. It can also be worn with the buttons in the front or the back so it is extremely versitle. This young lady was doing this for a fund raiser to send kids to school. VERY cute ideas with her many outfits.

One More Thing.....
This is another addition to the living room. I had spied this back last fall and drooled over it, but didn't buy it. I looked at it again during the winter. Still didn't buy it. I went shopping with my friend, Stephanie, and it really pulled my heartstrings. So...I bit the bullet and bought it. I'm really glad I did. It's just what that corner needed.
The Pop Up Camper Redo
I have a picture of the outside of our pop up on a previous post. Now you get to see what the inside looks like. I added my own touch by making all new curtains and covering the seat cushions. I used painter drop clothes. I prewashed them so now when they get dirty I just throw them in the machine. Now...after getting these pictures up loaded I realized that things look a bit messy, and there is stuff sittin' around. Just look over that. It was a camping trip after all.
I Was Feeling Adventurous Today
Those of you who know me know that I do not enjoy messin' in the kitchen. But today I felt like broadening my horizons. I had a hankerin' for some homemade cinnamon rolls. My sister, Inez, made cinnamon rolls when she was in home ec and OH they were so good. I've NEVER used yeast but today I did. I'm so pleased with myself. Now let's see how they turn out.

What Have I Been Up To
Can you believe I only paid $3 for this little table? I found it at Goodwill, painted it cream, and distressed it.
And can you believe this is a toilet tissue roll? Yep. There was an article in Somerset Life showing these little darlings and since I learned how to mess with bee's wax last fall at Silver Bella, I HAD to try it. I'm calling mine "scripture pockets" and I'm handing them over to a lady at our church who makes welcome baskets for all our new members.
