necklaces

I like unique necklaces and learned I could make them myself. These are a few I've made.

Dairy Farm

Today we went to the Hatcher Dairy Farm in Williamson County. We saw all ages of cows and the babies in the nursery were SO cute. There were a few other animals to pet and admire. And look at the crowd of us! There were 75 in our homeschooling group!

This kitty greeted us at the farm. SO cute.

This is a recent picture of our house.

Our CUTE Little Garden Shed

This is our current project. We came a long way on it his past weekend. This is going to be a precious little addition to our place. I'll post the progress as it comes along.

I Love Zinnias

I always look forward to growing zinnias around my house. They add such bright, beautiful colors and last all summer. I picked a few today and made a bouquet. They make me smile.

We were invited to spend some time on the lake with friends. It was very relaxing.

This is yet another doll I've made. My friend, Christine had a fit over the ones I posted previously and asked for one. Isn't she cute?

These are some jewelry finds I found at Hobby Lobby. I can't wait to play with these.

Riding Lessons

Aubry has been falling in love with horses for the past few years. Several months ago we noticed one of our neighbors was giving riding lessons. I kept telling Aubry I would call, but I didn't get around to it until this week. Logan agreed to be a part of this as well. So here are pictures of my 2 youngin's going on their first horse rides.

Melissa Tilley is the instructor and was very impressed with Aubry's "natural" abilities. Aubry had the horse turning right off the bat and TROTTING! Melissa said she's never had a new student do that.
But it was a fun time for the kids and we'll go back next week.

dollies

Logan and Aubry love the magazine Stuffed and we found some inspiration in the latest issue. Here's our version of a doll in the magazine that looks like Coraline.

Logan's turn

Now it's Logan's turn. He has an eye for detail, as you can see in his drawings. Here he has drawn one of his worlds, Desertex, and these are the creatures that inhabit this world.

Art by Aubry

Aubry drew these precious portraits of Logan, me and herself yesterday. Aren't they precious? Also seen here is a better picture of my fabric flowers, button art by Aubry, and a sweet picture of "mother/daughter" on Aubry's birthday.

Posting Pictures!

I have figured it out! Here is the blue velvet and trim that I'm sewing for Aubry. Also I shot a picture of some fabric roses I recently learned how to make. And of course I had to show Miss Yo Yo.

July 28, 2009

The title of my blog came from my son, Logan. In our powder room, I've covered the walls with quotes, papers, and other little things. He told me one day, "That room is like a....room of whispers." I thought his words were precious and as I was trying to come up with a title for my blog, I remembered that. I liked it so here we are.

Yesterday was Aubry's 8th birthday. She requested a day of shopping. So we took Logan to a friend's house and off we went. It was a great day weather-wise and other-wise. Fun, fun fun.

I spent some time this morning sewing on a bodice that I'm making for Aubry. The top is blue velvet. I still need to find the skirt fabric, but I have a beautiful trim that has a black background, purple flowers, olive green leaves, and blue beads. It really looks lovely with the blue velvet.

Maybe I can learn to add pictures and show them here.

Little Stinkers

Todd was out taking care of our chickens when along came a momma skunk and her 6 babies!  Notice the tails sticking up in the top photo.
