Williamsburg Adventure

We recently took a trip to Washington DC and Williamsburg. When I was tell Aubry about Williamsburg and what it was like she asked if she could dress up. ( she's always liked dressing up ) So here is a shot of her in her coif hat. She received many compliment and lots of attention during our walk around.

Easter Bunny

I saw a bunny simular to this at a friend's house so Aubry and I made our own version. I used embossed felt. I made Aubry (not shown) a white one and then I made a dark brown one (chocolate bunny HA) for one of Aubry's friends.

Purses

These are some purses I made a while back, but wanted to share them. The purse at the top is covered in tags from clothes I've had through the years. I got the idea from a book I had seen. The lining is fabric I used for my wedding dress and I made a button handle for it.
It's been a couple of years ago, but I found a website that showed a child's purse made into a house like this and it folded out so the child could carry it somewhere and play with it. Well, I made Aubry 2; one that is like a house and one that is like a barn. But they were so cute I had to make myself one. Of course mine doesn't fold out like hers do. I didn't want my money falling out.

Sewing Retreat Items

This past weekend I attended a fabulous sewing retreat and OH what FUN! These are some of the things I made while there.

The pattern for these angel wings came from a book I took with me. Mrs Ann, who organized the retreat gave me the idea to cover them with lace scraps after I did the cat seen here. Click on the pictures to get a closer view.

Yes, I pressed this. HA It's linen and can be very stubborn when one tries to get the wrinkles out. I washed it after I took this picture and I guess I should have waited to post the picture, but the virtue of patience is something I'm still working on.

Dollhouse Update

Aubry's dollhouse is progressing nicely. Little by little we're getting it finished. Notice the decorative ceilings. Aubry picked the colors. Todd has earned many bonus points for his meticulous work. Aubry has been very patient as we get this together for her. Remember this was a Christmas present. It is now March 14.

The trim painting has been my job. The porch spindels were my biggest dread, but they really weren't that hard or time consuming thanks to the pointer to use sponges.

Arts and Crafts

Aubry has been wanting me to teach her how to crochet but it's been a very long time since I used a hook. We found this cute little bear pattern (freebie flyer at Hobby Lobby) and it was shown made in regular yarn. Well, I had to make it a bit of a challenge and decided to use tatting yarn. And you know what? Sometimes I amaze myself. HA It turned out so cute and it didn't take very long to make it.

This horse was Aubry's idea. She drew out the pattern and I had her do the swirls on the mane and tail on her sewing machine. Didn't she do a beautiful job?
THIS was a school project. We have been studying living things and we came to plants. I told her to create some sort of artsy plant thing and she did this 3-D apple blossom. The girl KILLS me. I love her talent.

Yard Art

I was trimming up our Autumn Joy and Todd and I thought it would be cool to put them in the urns and in an iron planter. I added a few hydraengas too for added texture. Lovely! (Aubry helped)

Victoria's Farmhouse Dollhouse

Todd and I are in the process of putting a dollhouse together for Aubry. I knew it would be involved and take a while. But it's coming along.

Little Stinkers

Todd was out taking care of our chickens when along came a momma skunk and her 6 babies!  Notice the tails sticking up in the top photo.
