Todd and I are also in the process of making a new bed. These old doors came from an old house that was torn down. They were too gorgeous to let the dump get them so we repurposed them. Todd is working on the bed frame as I type and I'll post more pictures of the completed project when it's all done.

Current Projects
I feel like a kid again sometimes. For Christmas, Aubry received this adorable little cat doll. Her name is Biscuit. She came with no clothes so I had to make a few things quickly. This little gown is one of my creations. But then she needed somewhere to sleep so I fixed up this shoe box and I surprised myself. he he Isn't it cute?! Aubry was so excited when I got it all completed.

Autumn 2011
Autumn is definitely my favorite time of year. The cooler temps, rusty foliage, and sweaters are what I long for after those hot summer months.
These two kids of mine are certainly growing up. I see many changes in their looks from this time last year. I'm thankful for photos so we can remember....

Williamsburg Adventure
We recently took a trip to Washington DC and Williamsburg. When I was tell Aubry about Williamsburg and what it was like she asked if she could dress up. ( she's always liked dressing up ) So here is a shot of her in her coif hat. She received many compliment and lots of attention during our walk around.

Purses
These are some purses I made a while back, but wanted to share them. The purse at the top is covered in tags from clothes I've had through the years. I got the idea from a book I had seen. The lining is fabric I used for my wedding dress and I made a button handle for it.
It's been a couple of years ago, but I found a website that showed a child's purse made into a house like this and it folded out so the child could carry it somewhere and play with it. Well, I made Aubry 2; one that is like a house and one that is like a barn. But they were so cute I had to make myself one. Of course mine doesn't fold out like hers do. I didn't want my money falling out.
Sewing Retreat Items
This past weekend I attended a fabulous sewing retreat and OH what FUN! These are some of the things I made while there.

Dollhouse Update
Aubry's dollhouse is progressing nicely. Little by little we're getting it finished. Notice the decorative ceilings. Aubry picked the colors. Todd has earned many bonus points for his meticulous work. Aubry has been very patient as we get this together for her. Remember this was a Christmas present. It is now March 14.
Arts and Crafts
Aubry has been wanting me to teach her how to crochet but it's been a very long time since I used a hook. We found this cute little bear pattern (freebie flyer at Hobby Lobby) and it was shown made in regular yarn. Well, I had to make it a bit of a challenge and decided to use tatting yarn. And you know what? Sometimes I amaze myself. HA It turned out so cute and it didn't take very long to make it.
This horse was Aubry's idea. She drew out the pattern and I had her do the swirls on the mane and tail on her sewing machine. Didn't she do a beautiful job?
THIS was a school project. We have been studying living things and we came to plants. I told her to create some sort of artsy plant thing and she did this 3-D apple blossom. The girl KILLS me. I love her talent.

Dream Chamber
I have a new hobby. Aubry got a doll house for Christmas and we are having so much fun getting our decorating ideas together. Well, the house is still under construction but I got to let off some creative steam with this little room. I found the glass case at TJ Maxx for only $13. I made curtains, a chair, and the bed. I call it "Dream Chamber".

Christmas 2010 and A New Year
What a beautiful Christmas it was! We had snow in Tennessee.
Aubry and I have been reading the Little House books and she wanted a dress from that era so I made her one. When she wore it to church she told her friends she was "walking history". One young man said she looked like a China doll.
This is a picture of Aubry and Logan waiting for the mail. They had a package coming.

And with the new year, I tried to do some cleaning and organizing. Aubry and YoYo helped clean out a corner cabinet. You can see how much help they were. HA
2011 is off to a good start. School lessons have begun. Plans for the coming months are a trip to Atlanta, a snow tubing trip to Indiana with our church teens, and I'll be participating in a sewing retreat as a teacher!
